About the role
Our client currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Geotechnical Engineering Intern to join their dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experience in the field of geotechnical engineering, working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects across Sydney.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist with fieldwork activities including site investigations, soil sampling, and geotechnical testing under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Conduct data analysis and interpretation of geotechnical data collected during site investigations.
- Assist in the preparation of geotechnical reports, including the documentation of findings, analysis, and recommendations.
- Support the design and implementation of geotechnical solutions for various engineering projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into project planning and design.
- Participate in site visits and meetings with clients to gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges and solutions.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols at all times.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic background with coursework in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and geotechnical software tools is desirable.
